Elon Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, has recently made remarks to Chinese official media, drawing attention with his interest in space and his investments in the industry. On spite of Musk’s stated intention to construct a’self-sufficient’ metropolis on Mars, he has said, “When the sun expands one day and the Earth is no longer livable, we may travel to a new home in a spacecraft.”
Elon Musk, who is well-known for his space ventures, has expressed a desire to construct a “self-sufficient” metropolis on Mars. SpaceX and Tesla’s CEO wrote an essay for Chinese official media in which he discussed his hopes for the future of electric car infrastructure and his aim to one day construct a metropolis on Mars.
While his piece was published in China Cyberspace magazine, a publication of China’s powerful internet censorship, the Chinese Cyberspace Administration, Musk was quoted on NTV as saying, “My greatest dream is for humans to construct a self-sufficient city on Mars.”
Elon Musk has been an outspoken supporter of Mars colonization for some time now, and his company, SpaceX, is hard at work on the Starship spaceship that will carry humanity there so they may create the utopian self-sufficient metropolis of their dreams.
“Human civilization in the great cosmos is like a little light shining in space, like a small candle that gets extinguished,” SpaceX’s CEO remarked in reference to the goal of establishing life on Mars. In order for human civilisation to survive, it is necessary that people be able to establish themselves as interplanetary citizens by establishing themselves on other worlds. Musk has remarked that “humanity should continue to speed the process” of the global sustainable energy transition because “the sooner this transition occurs and the less risk Humanity puts on the environment, the more it will benefit.”
